9/10/20

Hello Davisville Family,

We are excited to share with you our plan for gathering in-person and online on Sundays at Davisville this fall. As Pastor Tim laid out in our latest ministry update, much prayer and planning have gone into this as our elders have wrestled with these decisions. We thank you for the input you have provided, and for your prayers and patience during this process. We believe the time has come to take next steps, and that the following plan continues to uphold the values of regularly meeting together and protecting the health and safety of our church family and community.

__________

Outdoor Sunday Gatherings

Weekly outdoor Sunday gatherings will begin September 20th.

We will meet at 11 am in the field next to the Activity Center, weather permitting. This will look like our Wednesday evening gatherings but will have the same content as the livestreamed service at 9 am (music, message, and other elements).

Outdoor Mitigation Efforts: Limited attendance (250) | Pre-registration | Masks required (may be removed during sermon while seated) | Encourage distancing | Minimize touchpoints | Bring your own chair | Bathrooms open

Indoor Sunday Gatherings

Weekly indoor Sunday gatherings will begin October 25th.

We will meet at 9 am in the sanctuary. We will begin with one service but move to two services at 9 & 11 am as needed. These times allow for proper cleaning and egress to occur between services.

Mitigation Efforts: Limited attendance (150) | Pre-registration | Masks required at all times | Spaced seating | Thorough cleaning regimen | No children’s ministry (nursery & kids) | Minimize touchpoints

Online Gatherings

Beginning September 20th, to coincide with our outdoor Sunday gatherings, we will launch a new opportunity for our church family to experience more meaningful connection online through a Digital Neighborhood. This will take place immediately following the 9 am livestream using Zoom. In a Digital Neighborhood you will have the opportunity to meet other people from Davisville, enjoy light-hearted conversation, and talk about faith.

We will continue to broadcast live on Sundays at 9 am enabling our church family to connect even if they are unable to gather in-person. You can watch on our Facebook page or directly on our website, davisville.org. If you miss it live, you can always watch by clicking on the sermons tab whenever it is convenient for you.

FAQs

Why do we have to have mitigation efforts, like distancing and wearing masks, for our gatherings?

It is our understanding that large gatherings that include singing, especially indoors, continue to be of higher risk for exposure and transmission of COVID-19. After researching the issue, including consulting with the Bucks County Department of Health and medical and scientific professionals, and learning from similar churches in our area, we believe the safety measures and precautions we are taking are appropriate at this time. These steps enable us to gather as safely as possible.

We understand some individuals would prefer to not wear a mask, but for the well-being of all and for the sake of unity within our church, we ask that each person (over the age of 2) wear a mask while on the church property. Masks will be provided for those who don’t have one with them. During the outdoor services, masks may be removed during the message.

Why isn’t the Children’s Ministry (including the Nursery) resuming at the same time as Sunday gatherings?

We love our kids and eagerly look forward to DC Kids resuming on Sundays. However, due to the difficulty of ensuring all kids comply with social distancing and the other best practices outlined above, we think it best for kids to remain with their immediate family for the time-being. Nonetheless, we do encourage families to come with their children, as we believe this is a great opportunity for your children to learn the value of corporate worship as they observe you and others worshipping together. We will be sensitive in our service content and length and will provide materials to help engage your kid(s) during the worship service.

When should I stay home?

Please stay home if you or someone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19 and/or is showing any of the following symptoms: fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, fatigue, body aches, headache, sore throat, congestion, loss of taste or smell, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea. If you are considered especially vulnerable to complications due to COVID-19, we encourage you to join our online service at 9:00 a.m.

What will we do if someone in our community gets sick as a result of gathering?

If we are informed that someone in our community has tested positive while gathering with us, we will work with the Bucks County Department of Health on follow-up communication and procedures. While registration information may be used for contact tracing, the privacy of the ill and those in contact will be maintained.

Can I use the church building for smaller ministry gatherings?

Yes. In a limited manner, our facilities have been open over the past few months for smaller gatherings. You can fill out a request form here, and our current guidelines and restrictions are laid out in the form. We will continue to increase availability and adjust restrictions as we are able.
