God has a "world-sized" role for every Christian in His global purpose. Whether people go to distant countries or stay at home is a secondary issue. The primary issue is what most people are hungry to discover: vision to live a life of purpose. Discovering that vision makes this course valuable, and perhaps crucial, for any Christian.
Perspectives is meant to kindle or rekindle an informed passion for taking the message of Jesus Christ to those near and far, that is, to those in my sphere of influence.
Perspectives is a fifteen week course designed around four vantage points or "perspectives" — Biblical, Historical, Cultural and Strategic. Each one highlights different aspects of God's global purpose.
The Biblical and Historical sections reveal why our confidence is based on the historic fact of God's relentless work from the dawn of history until this day.
The Cultural and Strategic sections underscore that we are in the midst of a costly, but very "do-able" task, confirming the Biblical and Historical hope.
Each week will feature a different live speaker drawn from a pool of Biblical scholars, missionaries, pastors, professors, and mission mobilizers who bring a wealth of experience, information, and passion to each lesson.
Classes will be held on 15 consecutive Sunday evenings from 5:30 - 8:30 pm beginning August 26 and continuing through December 9.
Each class will be feature two 55 minute sessions featuring the live speaker sandwiched around a time for refreshments and small group activities and intercession and Q&A. There will be a different speaker each week drawn from a pool of Biblical scholars, missionaries, pastors, professors, and mission mobilizers who bring a wealth of experience, information, and passion to each lesson.
